Single Tooth Dental Implant

Stage 1: Pre-Treatment

• Assessing Suitability

During your initial treatment consultation, our dentists will evaluate your oral condition to determine your suitability for receiving dental implants. 

Having adequate healthy bone mass is critical to having an implant placed. Should you have a weak bone structure or not enough bone, and if you would like to still go through with having a dental implant, either a smaller implant is placed or a bone grafting procedure or sinus lift surgery needs to be carried out. 

Sometimes if deemed unsuitable, dentures or dental bridges may be recommended as options to address a missing tooth.

Once it has been determined that you are suitable for a dental implant, your dentist will take X-rays of your jaw and impressions of your teeth and gums. 

Stage 3: Post-Operative Care

• Pain, swelling and bruising are common side-effects that patients deal with. Antibiotics and painkillers will be provided after each surgery. A soft diet is also recommended. 
• The healing needs to be monitored and to ensure that the jawbone successfully fuses to the implant, and if not, might need to be removed. 
• As with the maintenance of natural teeth, stellar oral hygiene needs to be practised.
